A Takashi Murakami artwork is up for grabs in an art treasure hunt in Paris

Published

The historic Grand Palais in Paris has announced that it’s hosting an art scavenger hunt in collaboration with Perrotin Gallery, and if you’re lucky you could get your hands on a free Takashi Murakami artwork.

The project, titled “Wanted!”, is set to take place over 48 hours next weekend (October 24 to October 25) and participation will be free of charge. Hidden alongside the Murakami artwork will be 19 others from artists also represented by Perrotin, including Daniel Arsham, Emily Mae Smith, and JR.

“The rules are simple,” reads a post on the gallery’s Instagram page: “20 artworks by Perrotin artists will be concealed in the empty nave of the Grand Palais. If you find one, you leave with it.”

In a statement, Emmanuel Perrotin tells The Art Newspaper: “I am hugely grateful to my artists for their commitment and belief in this wild project. This is a rare moment. I love the idea of doing this as a gift to the city of Paris, as a moment of solidarity and joy.”

Perrotin adds that he visited the Grand Palais empty to consider the space for a project with Maurizio Cattelan (the artist behind the infamous $120,000 banana at Art Basel) seven years ago. “During this visit, I happened to ask how much it cost to rent the Grand Palais,” he says. “Ever since, I have kept this idea in my mind.”

Check out the announcement of “Wanted!” below.

Harry Styles has bid farewell to his quarantine hair.

After months of sporting longer, curly locks (and even a much-discussed mustache), the “Watermelon Sugar” singer, 26, was spotted with a new, short ‘do while out and about in LA over the weekend.

With its longer-on-top, short-at-the-sides shape, Styles’ hair instantly reminded fans of his look in 2017’s “Dunkirk,” sparking a slew of tweets that soon had “DUNKIRK HARRY” trending worldwide.

“The way we had a full head of curls a few days ago and now we literally have dunkirk harry again,” one person wrote, while another chimed in, “I saw ‘HE CUT HIS HAIR’ trending and somehow knew it was about Harry Styles without checking for context.”

Styles’ new look is thought to be for his upcoming role in the Olivia Wilde-directed psychological thriller “Don’t Worry Darling.” He’s replacing Shia LaBeouf, who dropped out of the film due to scheduling conflicts.

It comes after Lila recently made her runway debut where she appeared a natural fit for the catwalk as she strutted her stuff at Miu Miu’s virtual event.

Kate first hit the runway at the same age as her mini-me in 1992, after being scouted as a 14-year-old in 1988 at JFK Airport in New York.

Industry sources reported that Kate’s priorities have shifted from her own career to launching her only daughter onto the fashion scene.

Lila is the principal client at the Kate Moss Agency, which also boasts singer Rita Ora and Game Of Thrones actress Gwendoline Christie.

Miley Cyrus made headlines this weekend for her must-see MTV special that included a mix of hit songs and stylish looks.

For one of the performances during her ‘Backyard Sessions,’ the “Midnight Sky” singer performed her cover of “Communication” by The Cardigans in a bold number. The outfit included a plunging, 1970s-style gold dress coated in a snakeskin texture with a metallic loop ring holding it all together.

On her feet, Cyrus then elevated the standout outfit with classic black thin-strap sandals set atop a towering stiletto heel.

Throughout the MTV special, the 27-year-old star continued to show off her standout style and impressive vocals. The looks ranged from glittering gowns layered over fishnet tights to leather trousers teamed with a semi-sheer blouse. As for performances, the singer covered both her own hits as well as songs from Britney Spears, Pearl Jam and even her own sister Noah Cyrus’s own track.

While Miley Cyrus herself is best known for her hit albums and box office films, she also dips her toes in the fashion and shoe space. The “Last Song” star made an appearance on the runway at the Marc Jacobs’ fall ’20 show and has also sat front row at shows for top labels such as Tom Ford and Saint Laurent. She also has worked with Converse on a series of pride-filled shoe collections.

The Converse collaborator has been vegan for years, and she embraces wardrobe pieces that are cruelty-free. In fact, at last year’s Met Gala she teamed a Saint Laurent minidress with a custom vegan leather version of the brand’s Paige platform sandals. Her other go-to designers for fashion and apparel include Versace, Alexandre Vauthier and Azalea Wang amongst others.

Give your ensembles the ultimate boost with sandals inspired by Miley Cyrus’ towering pair during her MTV special.
